Christine Lane, MSW, LCSW

Christine Lane is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. She is the owner of Shore Counseling LLC, founded in 2007.

Christine is a practicing psychotherapist with over 17 years of experience and is skilled in cognitive therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), stress management, and crisis intervention. She has extensive experience working with women and young adults who are struggling with codependency, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem with a focus on ‘Mind, Body, and Spirit’. She takes a holistic approach to wellness and mental health.

Christine strives to provide a nurturing and supportive environment where you can safely explore areas of your life, overcome struggles, and gain important insight along the way.

Stress and anxiety are at an all-time high with political uncertainty, school violence, and social media. Learn Emotional Freedom Techniques to release negative emotions; while developing a healthier self. She also does psychological assessments for candidates considering bariatric surgery.

Christine is licensed to practice in New Jersey and in Florida.


Charlene DiPeri, MSW, LCSW

Charlene DiPeri, MSW, LCSW

Charlene is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from East Stroudsburg University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Since 2003, Charlene has maintained an active private practice providing individual counseling, couples therapy and family therapy to those struggling with anxiety, depression, military trauma, life transitions, domestic violence, disabilities, and LGBTQ/Gender issues.

Charlene has also worked for the Coast Guard for over fifteen years, providing psychosocial and domestic violence assessments and therapy. Charlene has also dedicated her time to volunteering as a Crisis Intervention Counselor for Women’s Resources and served as a board member for the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse.

Charlene feels that it is important to use her skills to help the community. As an active member of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, she often follows the Serenity Prayer as a guiding principle in practice: ‘God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.


Dr. Steven M. Stolar, Ed.D., LPC

Dr. Steven M. Stolar, Ed.D., LPC

A National Board Certified and Licensed Professional Counselor, Dr. Steven M. Stolar is a staff psychotherapist.

He is available to adolescents and adults for a variety of concerns for healthy, successful living.

Retired emeritus from Rowan College South Jersey, he was a member of the Student Services Division. There he held a number of faculty, counselor, advisor, and administrative roles.

A graduate of Stockton University, Loyola University, and Virginia Tech, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Princeton University.


Martha Francis, LCSW

Martha Francis, LCSW

Martha has over 12 years of experience helping people overcome anxiety and depression. Martha also has extensive experience treating people with family and relationship issues, chronic illness and grief. In addition, she has specialized training in EMDR for trauma.

Specialized practice:
:: In-depth psychodynamic psychotherapy to relieve symptoms of depression and anxiety.
:: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing) for trauma, anxiety and loss.
:: Exposure Response Prevention for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Martha believes psychotherapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and client. As the therapist, it is her responsibility to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment. She works with clients to create a plan for solution-focused therapy to improve overall well-being, increase motivation and develop the insight and skills to live better.

Martha is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and California. She earned an MSW from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, MA. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings including private practice, community mental health, and substance abuse treatment.


Julianne Valenti – Office Manager

Julianne Valenti – Office Manager

Office Manager, Julie Valenti, has worked at Shore Counseling for over 2 years: She provides administrative support to all the psychotherapists as well as oversees the front office, scheduling appointments, medical delivery, and customer service.

Julie graduated from Rowan University with a business degree and has worked in the health care and service industry.
